Cuddles - Umbrella Cockatoo
Cuddles came to The Nest following her rescue from the World Parrot Refuge. Cuddles is one of our social butterflies - she loves conversation and has a sweet spot for the guys. Cuddles requires daily checks for her hormone related medical condition but she loves the added attention. Getting her back in her cage can be a challenge - especially if the toy box is out! |
Daisy - Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo
Darling Daisy is about 25 years old and she struggles with self-mutilation and depression. We lack a time machine, but wish we could go back and get Daisy before whatever parts of her past caused her trauma. What we can do is provide her with nothing but positive energy, love, and safe spaces to live the healthiest future she can. Daisy says "Hi Baby" so sweetly, loves a gentle head scritch, and "helping" in The Nest kitchen. |
Felix - Citron Crested Cockatoo
Felix means lucky in Latin, and we are so lucky to have Felix at The Nest. Felix is a lady in her 30s who has a previous leg injury we monitor. Nothing really stops Felix from being a (mostly) chill little 'too who enjoys time on her cage balcony seeking head scritches from the human helpers. |
Leo - Citron Crested Cockatoo
Leo missed out on a career as a cartoon voice actor. If there is a character who sweetly says "whee" a lot, Leo is your guy. Leo is about 20 years old and you better watch out for his food flying if he's not getting enough attention! With his recent health concerns with his heart, Leo is a trooper taking his medications and chatting his way to the veterinarians for his check ups. |
Rio - Umbrella Cockatoo
Rio is a new addition to The Nest flock. We''ll get a profile written soon. Right now were learning that Rio loves walnuts, playing with water at the sink, and cuddling. We're so glad Rio is here, making new bird friends and showing us his personality. |
Rose - Moluccan Cockatoo
Rose came into our lives following the closure and subsequent rescue efforts at the World Parrot Refuge. Rose is a regular star on our TikTok page and with good reason. Her antics should be legendary. Like many WPR birds, Rose deals with medical issues including depression and self-harm. Rose has a heart murmur and crop issues that mean she only gets soft foods. |
Ziggy - Umbrella Cockatoo
Ziggy is our extravagant teenager that demands all of the love in the room. When Ziggy is not busting a move he is busy playing with his toys and sweet talking to all of our female Nesters. This bird is quite the ladies man and we are constantly trying to divert his attention! |
